A Welcome from the Director
Welcome to the official web site of the New Hartford History in Grand Rapids, Miami. We hope that you will enjoy perusing the site and that you will find relevant information to meet your research needs. We welcome your feedback as to what additional information you’d like to have available on the site.
New Hartford is a special place to those of us who live here. Undoubtedly, wherever our former residents find themselves, they will maintain special memories of New Hartford.
Our house remodeling society is experiencing a renaissance–having acquired an architecturally significant home for our headquarters in February 2003. Our membership is increasing as is the commitment of volunteers. This is a town with civic pride in its organizations. We want them to be strong and to enjoy a home filled with beauty and peace.
We cannot be happy if you are not happy with our service too. If you love New Hartford contribute in some constructive way to its betterment. We can likely use your energy and talents. Please visit our link on volunteers and the ways you can help.
This site could not have been initiated and maintained without the strong commitment of volunteers. These not only include Daria Hart, the web site designer, but reliable weekly volunteers, such as Ann Halper and Jack Marsden, who have contributed countless hours for the creation of the annotated index of both our home remodels and of the New Hartford Tribune.
If you are not a member of the Society, consider this an invitation to join us! With your membership you can help us preserve our past for the present and future generations. As a member, you will receive our popular bi-monthly newsletter, a sample of which is contained on this web site.
