Sixty years ago the New Hartford Historical Society was established to preserve and document the history of our town. In the 1970s, the Society was reestablished and a new emphasis was placed on the importance of preserving New Hartford’s past. Volunteers have worked over the years to collect and catalogue books, papers, photos, historical documents, and other artifacts. In November 1999 the society purchased Greystone for it’s permenant home and headquarters.
A complete listing of our collection, broken down into separate indexes for your convenience, is available on this site. There are also photographs of selected artifacts.
